About a year after launching Magnetic Resonance it seems appropriate to publish a few editorial remarks about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Open Access, motivated by an analysis of the Ethics Committee of the French CNRS and by a debate organized by the Royal Dutch Academy of Science. Geoffrey Bodenhausen (born 1951) is a French chemist specializing in nuclear magnetic resonance, being highly cited in his field. He is a Corresponding member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Fellow of the American Physical Society. Written by one of the world's leading NMR research teams, this monograph presents the most comprehensive and up-to-date treatment of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy available.
